Met Gala Best Dressed List

#Trophies

The Met Gala will be happening in 8 days and we can't wait!!

So, we thought it would be fun to do a recap of our favorite celebrity looks from past Galas.
With themes ranging from punk (2013) to Jacqueline Kenndy (2001) , the Gala brings out the stars in their best fashion forward outfits. "The Costume Institute Gala (or Costume Institute Ball), known as the Met Ball or Met Gala, is an annual ball that celebrates the annual opening of the Metropolitan Museum's fashion exhibit at the Costume Institute. The red carpet evening is hosted by Vogue magazine."  This year Met Gala will take place on May 5th in New York City, and this years theme is Charles James: Beyond Fashion! So we can except that celebrity royalties,  fashionistas and American Sweethearts will be painting the town in their glorious, massive and free flowing gowns. Women's Wear Daily reported  Thursday that Michelle Obama will be on hand May 5 to open the Costume Institute’s new Anna Wintour Costume Center. FLOTUS will serve as ribbon-cutter and will also be giving a speech to commemorate the event. (Huffington Post

Ahhh! We can wait, if only we we're in New York! One day soon though, your girls will be at the Met Gala bringing you the latest fashion.

 Fun Facts: Met Gala 2014
  • The dress code for the event is White Tie. House heiress Chloé Perrin, 23, explains glove etiquette for Vogue.com:
"You must wear them while shaking hands with other guests and also while dancing, but they should be removed when you sit at the table for a meal... They can be partially removed while drinking, but personally I prefer to keep them on."
The male attendees must wear, The Times explains: "A black tailcoat, a waistcoat, a wing-collared shirt, and white bow tie".
  • It's also gonna cost attendees and extra $10k to get in. Admission to the event is now $25,000 per ticket!
  • The Hollywood Reporter list of celebrity and designer pairings:
· Prada: Lupita Nyong'o, Michelle Dockery
· Prabal Gurung: Zoe Saldana
· Givenchy: Amanda Seyfried
· J. Mendel: Taylor Swift
· Diane von Furstenberg: Margot Robbie, Olivia Munn
· Tommy Hilfiger: Zooey Deschanel
  • Gwyneth Paltrow will not be at this year's Met Gala—or any Met Gala ever again—because last year's was so "un-fun"
