Summer couldn't come any sooner beauts! We're already impatiently waiting to whip out our summer wardrobe. But know we have something else to look forward to. If your a moonie like us, then you'll be happy to know that the popular anime series Sailor Moon, will be rebooted this July!  The show will air worldwide on the steaming website Niconic, where it will be subtitled in ten languages.

Producer Atsutoshi Umezawa This second anime adaptation of Bishojo Senshi Sailor Moon is not remaking that previous anime, but adapting [Naoko Takeuchi's] original manga and starting from scratch again. It is quite a project. The entire staff has been working hard to show everyone an entirely new, so please look forward to it.”

Creator Naoko Takeuchi announced almost two year ago at an event celebrating the 20th anniversary of Sailor Moon that there was a development of new Sailor Moon anime. Little information has been released but here is what we do know from Den of Geek

"This new series was initially scheduled to premiere Summer 2013 for a simultaneous worldwide release. The premiere has since been postponed  twice, first to December, 2013, then again to July, 2014. No specific date is currently nailed down."
"The series will be available on Niconico, a Japanese streaming video servive, likely with subtitles in ten languages including English. Toonami is looking into airing the show here in the U.S."
"The new anime will not be a remake of the 1992 original, but rather a more direct adaptation of the manga."

" While the original voice actors for Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask have expressed interest in reprising their roles, and several actors from the English dub have said the same regarding a dub of the new series, no official casting information has been announced on either front."
"Idol group Momoiro Clover Z will perform the theme song. Whether this will be a cover of “Moonlight Densetsu,” the opening theme for the original anime’s first four seasons, or a new song altogether has not yet been specified, but speculation seems to be leaning toward something new."

The reboot will be based solely from the manga which means according to the celebrity cafe, that the reboot will feature LGBT characters

"Sailor Moon, when created by artist Naoko Takeuchi, featured a host of unique characters, and many of them carried over to anime when it was released in Japan. However, when the series reached international markets, many of the characters had their sexuality or gender identities changed. For example, two of the main characters of the series were mentioned to be in a romantic relationship in the Japanese version of the show, though when dubbed in English were reduced to cousins to account for them often being together. Other characters, such as villains Zoisite and Fisheye, were changed from male to female characters. "
