TAKE. ME. BACK. THURSDAYS: THE QUEENS OF DISCO
TAKE. ME. BACK. THURSDAYS
The Queens Of Disco
We get alot of our creative and style inspiration from the 1970's era, particularly from the disco culture. A lot of people have their opinions about the disco culture. However to us disco is important because of the role it has played in evolving fashion.
Our love for the disco culture comes from their openness of expression and love for all types of people. There was no sexism, racisms or agism, from our perspective it seemed like a time of fun and freedom. For this Take Me Back Thursday, we would like to dedicate today to the DISCO QUEENS who light up the night in their expressive, bold, flashy and clingy outfits. Below are some our favorite QUEENS of DISCO stuntin in our favorite outfits .
Donna Summers (R.I.P.)
In January 2012 Chaka Khan, Grace Jones and Gloria Gaynor performed at the Etam's Paris Fashion Week Show. Oh what a night!
"Anyone walking into the Beaux-Arts de Paris might have assumed they had stepped back in time tonight. Though fashion house Etam was hosting their Spring/Summer 2012 show, it was the 70s-era disco queens onstage who captured the evening's spotlight tonight. Soul divas Sister Sledge, Gloria Gaynor, Grace Jones and Chaka Kahn all wore their glittery best to perform at the Paris Fashion Week show." (DailyMail)
